Illustrator

In class today, I used illustrator to create a new logo for an Italian resturant.
1) I first selected the basic shapes such as an oval to represent the chef's face.
2)Then select a rectangle and polygon to represent the chef's hat.
3)To create a chef's mustache, I selected the Arc tool.
4)Then I modified the outline of the strokes and color of the chef's image.
5)To smooth out the shape of the hat, select the rectangle (press shift key) and select the polygon. Click and drag the smooth tool, under pencil tool.
6) Finally To create a dramatic effect, I selected the Flare Tool for the background.
7)The name of the restaurant. (Type Tool)

Welcome!!!

Hello all you bloggers. I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am a college student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro studying Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies. I am concentrating in fashion merchandising, and very enthusiastic about this major. At our University we also have a fashion design program. This semester I am broadening my horizons and exploring a new understanding for design. I am the kind of person who loves to be creative and enjoys developing my skills. I am taking an introduction class for the merchandising and design professional. We will be creating projects that are used in our industry and post them on this blog. Please feel free to comment and give feed back. Enjoy!
Elizabeth :)
